INSB Class establishes USA field station

INSB Class continues to expand its worldwide network coverage and professional service locations.  New location is based at Fort Lauderdale and aims to promote and expand the society’s services within the USA markets.

INSB Class, a leading Non-Iacs Greek provider of ship classification services is pleased to announce the opening of its new service location in Fort Lauderdale, USA.

The field station is headed by Cpt. Andy Scheer with a resident exclusive surveyor Mr. Kirk Palmquist and operates under the title name INSB USA with the aim to serve INSB fleet calling or operating within the USA waters as well as prospect clientele via a local contact and prompt service.

This new representation and service location, shall work for the expansion of INSB Class presence and service offerings throughout the USA region, while will allow for improved collaboration and communication with the USCG headquarters in a localised manner. Particular focus will be placed on networking activity and building relationship in the local marine segment including the yachting community.

INSB Class is amongst the approved classification societies for operating within the USA by the United States Coast Guard since 2006.

Fort Lauderdale was selected as the site for the new office because of its strong tradition as a marine community, embracing boatyards along the New River, to hosting the well-known international boat show.

Services which can be rendered via INSB site at Fort Lauderdale include survey and certification activities in the areas of ship classification, statutory surveys and auditing under the ISM, ISM and MLC Codes as well as yacht inspection and certification activity.
